The Earth is home to an incredible diversity of animal species, many of which are so unique as to reflect the creativity of Mother Nature herself with all her adaptations. From the far-off rainforests to the deep oceans, some have evolved traits that make them stand out. Some of the most unique, interesting animals from around the world are following.

1. Axolotl (Ambystoma Mexicanum) Mexico

The axolotl, popularly referred to as the Mexican walking fish, is a type of salamander for its ability to regenerate limbs, spinal cord, or even parts of its heart and brain. Most amphibians undergo metamorphosis, but the axolotl is neotenic, complete with all its juvenile features throughout its life. Such regenerative properties have piqued the interest of researchers, looking toward possible breakthroughs for eventual human healing.
