Winter in a Pakistani village is a season of simplicity and beauty. The sting of cold, crisp air, the glow of a traditional hearth, and the view of snow clad mountains or frost-clad fields are all part of an environment that is special to village life.

💫 For those living in rural areas, winter is not just a shift in the weather but also in the pace of daily life. It’s a season for community, culture, and family to take center stage, as well as one where the resourcefulness and strength of rural communities can be honored.

The Arrival of Winter: A Change in the Landscape

As autumn recedes, the initial manifestations of winter are seen. The weather becomes considerably cooler, particularly in the hilly and northern regions of Pakistan like Gilgit-Baltistan, Swat, and Murree, where it is very harsh.

💫Down south in the country, as in Sindh and southern Punjab, winter does not become quite severe but rather a welcome break from the sweltering summer.Villagers also prepare ahead for winter by storing food grains, firewood, and warm clothes.
